Day 1

7:36am

well i did it! day 1 of the boot camp is now behind me. so much for "building" up to higher levels. they acted like we had been working out for years. didnt they know we were the new kids!!!!? there are 4 of us going thru the process - arlice, ebony, mekinah and myself. we all made it thru seemingly unharmed (at least for now). they almost treated us like they didnt like us. okay so thats an exaggeration but it sure felt like it. things i wish i could have recorded today - ebony's moans, my facial expressions, arlice's hair and mekinah giving up on the mountain climbers.

down to business...

THE WORK OUT (nonstop from 5:45-6:45, they dont believe in breathers or breaks. did i mention they were drill sergeants? not really but they act like it)::

WARM UP: stretches (neck, shoulder, back, chest, groin, hamstring and quads).

WORK OUT:

17 of each - regular push ups, incline push ups, decline push ups, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, ski hops, squats with 2 hops, those things where you go down kick your feet back bring them back in and stand up again. another round of 20 of all of the aforementioned followed by suicides.

abs - bicycles (obliques), 90/45/6 degree leg lifts/holds, ab stretches.

COOL DOWN: stretches (neck, shoulder, back, chest, groin, hamstring and quads).

and yes i am actually forgetting quite a few things (probably because it was borderline traumatic), but this is most of it.

so anyway, i was home by 7. i showered and then fixed some breakfast - kashi blueberry waffle (yum) topped with fresh blackberries i got from my dad and honey, a scrambled egg (with sea salt), and a glass of orange juice.

i decided that i am going to go buy me a special plate, coffee mug and glass for my meals. i mean at the very least i could do something to make myself feel special thru all of this, right? i know just the mug - i saw it at the hallmark store in meyerland a short while back. its a mug for actors...so cute.

okay so now i am about to read my bible, journal and then go back to sleep. not sure what im gonna read today. this is a holistic process. i have tried to make this transition far too long to think i can do it without jesus. in fact, the older i get the more i learn there isnt really much i can do without him anyway. so it is imperative that i am consistent in feeding my spirit throughout the process, even more than i already do. otherwise, i know i wont make it through.

by the way, i have my first colonic tomorrow and i am sooooo excited. i have already scheduled for three. i cant wait to see the results...how i will feel afterward. i'll be sure to let you know.

later on today i will meet up with a friend to get my music situated on my zune so that i can have some kool workout music to make the workout more palatable. ha! whatever, thats probably not possible, but i would like to have some of my favs serenading me through the pain.

okay, so i will update my meals and activity later. in the meantime, im looking forward to a great day!

p.s. we are trying to think of a name for our group. it will be interesting to see what we come up with. i think we should even get some tshirts! thats so 80s but wouldnt it be fun?

peace
